About

Welcome to Slapstick Studios, an online media gallery full of short animated films and creative collaborations. I am an animator who aspires to produce short funny films for my own amusement, hoping to become successful creating smiles on faces through the art of character animation.

Slapstick Studios was named after the term ‘Slapstick’, a style of humour developed in early 1920’s silent movies. The great Charlie Chaplin was a master of this style of humour and he is still today regarded as one of the greatest comedians to have graced film.

I have contracted as a 3D animator and a 3D Generalist and animate key frame animation but I also have plenty of experience working with motion capture and realtime.

In 2010, a few years after my degree at Swansea Metropolitan University I was eager to further my education, specifically focusing on character animation. I enrolled on a three month intense character animation course at Escape Studios in London and I thrived with the experience and education I received. After completing the course at Escape Studios I have increasingly been inspired to animate and bring the motionless to life.

“Naturalness is the greatest requisite of comedy. It must be real and true to life. I believe in realism absolutely. Real things appeal to the people far quicker than the grotesque. My comedy is actual life, with the slightest twist or exaggeration, you might say, to bring out what it might be under certain circumstances.”

I am currently based in Manchester and have had various and occasionally challenging opportunities to become a vital part of many different 3D Studios here in many different areas of film, games and virtual reality.
